Central Sterile Coordinator

Description

Responsible for successfully coordinating the organizational operations of the Central Sterile Department. Performs duties including train, input in evaluation of staff and the day-to-day operations of Central Sterile Department. Provides orientation and training for Central Sterile personnel. Input to the Director of Surgical Services in the financial aspects of the department and assists in the quality assurance activities of the department. Collaborates with the Director of of Surgical Services in matters relating to Central Sterile. The Central Sterile Coordinator is clinical competent in surgical scrub techniques.

Qualifications

  • BCLS required
  • At least three years of experience in Operating Room as a scrub technician and experience as a Central Supply Technician is required. Must possess extensive knowledge and experience in the per-operative care of surgical patient
  • Basic understanding of policies, procedures, guidelines and principles required.
  • One or more years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and State regulations for acute care facilities required
