Our Mission Statement
The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is the principal membership organization representing and promoting the profession of physical therapy and of Holy Cross Hospital's Physical Therapy Department. Its mission is to further the profession's role in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of movement dysfunctions and the enhancement of the physical health and functional abilities of members of the public.
The Physical Therapist
Physical Therapists (PTs) are health care professionals who diagnose and treat individuals of all ages, from newborn to geriatric, who have medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. PTs examine each individual and develop a plan using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function and prevent disability.
