Holy Cross Hospital Auxiliary
The mission of the Holy Cross Auxiliary is to render service to the hospital and the community through supportive involvement with patients, staff, and visitors.
Hospital volunteers handle a variety of responsibilities at the hospital including staffing the day surgery desk and information desk, operating the wonderful new Gift Shop which opened in July 2005, managing the registration of over 600 health fair participants, and assisting with the Toast of Taos. The Auxiliary also holds an eagerly anticipated Valentine’s Day Tea for all the hospital employees, as well as a Holiday Bake Sale.
Money raised in the Gift Shop enables the Auxiliary to help purchase the latest medical equipment to provide “state-of-the-art” care. Scholarships are awarded each year for deserving high school graduates pursuing careers in health care fields.
Auxiliary members also enjoy being together! Our Membership Tea in October with refreshments are provided by the Auxiliary Board and all members are encouraged to bring prospective members. In May there is an Annual Awards Luncheon and in the summer a picnic. District and statewide auxiliary activities provide both educational and social opportunities.
We invite everyone, women and men, to be a part of Holy Cross Auxiliary. Teenagers over the age of 14 are welcome to participate in the Volunteens program.
Cardiac Monitor for Holy Cross Hospital
Linda Aubrecht, Auxiliary President, is presenting Sally Trigg, Executive Director Holy Cross Hospital Foundation with a check for $10,000 for the Cardiac Monitor. These funds were raised by the hard work of the Gift Shop committee and volunteers.
Annual Bake Sale
The Annual Bake Sale in early Christmas time. Our expert Auxilian bakers provide goodies for staff and visitors alike. Three seasoned volunteers are helping with the sale: On left: Charlene Tamayo, Auxiliary Representative to the Holy Cross Hospital Board of Directors and Doris Brandon and Luella Kramer who are celebrating their 30th year as volunteers.

2007 Annual Auxiliary Meeting
Linda Aubrecht, Auxiliary President, presided over the 2007 Annual Auxiliary Meeting with over 60 members in attendance. Linda Aubrecht was named Auxilian of the Year and all hospital volunteers were given kudos and certificates with the number of hours donated during the past year. Kean Spellman, CEO said the Auxilians are "winners" and Jim Peters, President of the New Mexico Health Systems and from the Las Cruces Auxiliary, gave a short speech encouraging members to attend the state-wide meeting in Albuquerque.
New Slate of Officers for 2007 are Linda Aubrecht, President; Marsha Neeb, Vice President; Bonnie Brown, Secretary; and Carol Valarde, Treasurer.

Volunteens Wanted!
If you have a teenager at home this summer ages 14-18, Phyllis Nichols would love to have them sign up as an Auxiliary Volunteen. Teens may work at the information desk or in one of the clinical areas. This is a great opportunity for teens to learn more about health-related careers while helping patients and their families and contribution to their home town community. Summer Picnic
At the Summer Picnic, Auxilians enjoy comraderie and wonderful food. Volunteers are encouraged to invite prospective members.
